One of the best things about running Sixty and Me is that I get to interview so many fascinating people. Recently, I have interviewed over 50 dating coaches and entrepreneurs, doctors and yoga teachers. Each discussion was unique in its own way, but, I have to be honest that I have a special place in my heart for my interview with dating coach, David Wygant.
Since many of the people in our Boomerly community are looking for a romantic partner in their 50s or 60s, I wanted to share this interview with all of you here. David is refreshingly (brutally) honest about the dating challenges and opportunities that we face as we get a little older.
I hope that you enjoy my interview with David. Please don’t forget to add your over 50 dating questions in the comments section and I will see if I can get David to answer them. Enjoy the show!
For example, during our interview, David admits that men have a preference for younger women, but, he says that this shouldn’t be a reason to stay out of the dating game. Far from it! According to David, the great majority of men just want to feel sexy and honored. They want someone who respects them for who they are and makes them feel great every day.
David also challenges the idea that women should wait for men to make the first move. In typical David-style, he encourages us to “stop burying ourselves in our idiot phone and just look up and smile.” 90% of men suffer from approach anxiety, but, would love to talk with you if you give them a chance.
If you are looking for a politically correct take on over 50 dating, this interview is probably not for you.
But, if you want to hear a brutally honest, smile-inducing take on finding romance in your 50s and 60s, I guarantee you will enjoy our discussion.
I hope that you enjoy the show! After you watch the video, please join the conversation at the bottom of this page.
