Would You Use Drugs to Reverse Aging? You May Soon Have a Choice!

By Margaret Manning March 12, 2015 Beauty

Is it possible that there will be a pill to reverse aging within our lifetimes? According to new research by the Mayo Clinic, the answer to this question is leaning in the positive direction. Let’s take a look at the study and start a discussion.

Can You Blame Us for Being Skeptical About “Anti-Aging” Pills and Potions?

By this point in our lives, most of us are pretty sick of “anti-aging” claims. We still want to look and feel our best, but, when it comes to potions and pills that claim to slow the aging process, or make our skin look 20 years longer, we are highly skeptical.

This raises an interesting question though. When we reject anti-aging claims, are we really saying that we want to age naturally? Or, are we simply saying that we don’t buy into the claims that current products are making? This is a fascinating and important question when you think about the fact that the true anti-aging revolution may only be a few years away.

Is it Even Possible to Reverse Aging?

Recently, a team of researchers from The Scripps Research Institute and the Mayo Clinic recently identified a new class of drugs that have the potential to help us live longer, healthier lives. According to the animal models that the scientists used, the drugs also have the potential to alleviate age-related issues such as frailty and poor heart function.

The majority of boomers simply aren’t prepared for the fact that a revolution in biotechnology, genetics and medicine is on our doorstep.

For starters, even the most optimistic of us are only planning for 20-30 more years on this planet. How many of us are financially and emotionally prepared for 50 or more years of good health?

I’d love to get your thoughts on this. If there was a new drug that could help you to live for decades more than you expected, in good health, would you take it? Would you still take the drug if it meant that you needed to keep working to support yourself during this time? Please join the discussion.
