It’s amazing to think that, in 1960, you could still buy a premium candy bar for $0.05. Of course, people made less back then too, so, it wasn’t like we were rolling around in candy as kids and teenagers. But, there were still plenty of options!
Personally, I always had a special place in my heart for Dip Dabs! There was something about the combination of fizziness and sweetness that drove me wild as a kid. Do you remember these?
At a time when there is so much negative news floating around, it’s fun to look back at the small things that we enjoyed together as a generation. There was a time when we just enjoyed life, without worrying about which political party was in power. There was a time when how quickly we could save for a chocolate bar or other candy seemed really, really important.
Let’s take a few minutes today to share our favorite candies and celebrate our shared sense of cultural identity.
