Get ready to be inspired by Judith Boyd, my guest in this episode of the Sixty and Me show. Judith is a 70 year old blogger whose site “Style Crone” expresses her passion for style and fashion in the lives of older women.
We discuss her use of the word “crone” to represent an authentic, powerful and adventurous woman. For her, a “crone” is a wise woman who expresses her life experience and love in the style she creates with her clothing, accessories and attitude.
We discuss fashion for older women, including how creating a unique personal style is a way for women over 60 to both adorn themselves and to express their inner self and beauty. Judith also provides tips on where to look for unique style accessories, at thrift stores, consignment shops and estate sales.
We also share Judith’s passion for hats. She discusses her belief that headwear can be a perfect expression of individuality and how wearing a hat always seems to make people smile. Judith introduces her own line of headwear that she has created for people who have hair loss due to chemotherapy or other health conditions and for women who just want to transform an outfit.
Judith is actually one of the main reasons that I decided to get back into wearing hats and scarves this year. I’m sure that she will inspire you too!
Finally we talk about her passion for yoga and how as an older woman it has improved every aspect of her life, physically and spiritually. As a 70 year old woman, Judith is a true inspiration with her genuine focus on self-expression, social connection, exercise and healthy living. Enjoy the Show!
