Quick and Easy Pro Makeup Tips For Older Women To Make A Double Chin Disappear!

By Sixty and Me December 07, 2018 Beauty

Gravity is not exactly our best friend as we age. It takes away our previously well-defined features making us look older and more tired than we feel. Many of the videos we see online about using makeup to create definition apply a lot of products and look too heavy when it comes to makeup for mature women.

If you’ve been looking for a way to create definition without spending half your morning in front of a mirror, you’ll absolutely love today’s video with Ariane Poole!

Professional makeup artist Ariane Poole joins Margaret Manning in today’s Sixty and Me video to demonstrate a lightning-fast way to reduce the look of a double chin.

Is This A Trick We Need To Know?

Whether you’re fighting to hide a double chin or less definition around your cheeks, any trick that helps defy the effects of gravity are welcome when it comes to makeup for mature women.

We don’t want to look like we’re about the go on a photographic shoot for a high-end fashion magazine, but we do want everything at our disposal to increase our confidence! As Ariane says, “We aren’t all celebrities, but we should all be treated that way.”

Even celebrity women have a double chin, and you can be sure they’re doing whatever they can to reduce it showing!

Makeup-Free Tips and Tricks

If you are not a fan of using makeup, there are a couple of other ways to help avoid or cover up a double chin. Don’t worry – neither of them involves surgery!

Believe it or not, you can use fashion to help cover up your double chin. Turtlenecks and polo necks create a frame for your face, covering up or drawing attention away from your chin area. Another wardrobe item you can use is a scarf, but make sure you are careful to wear it in a way that doesn’t add bulk to your upper body area.

To avoid or reduce a double chin, start trying facial yoga or facial exercises, which help keep your skin toned and tightened – you might even find it relaxes you, reducing other lines!

Your Secret Multi-Use Weapon For Makeup Over 60

Many of us have items in our makeup kit that are rarely used – bronzer should never be one of them. From brushing on a little color in the colder months to giving you an instant summer glow, when it comes to makeup for older women bronzer is your secret weapon!

Your bronzer doesn’t need to be expensive – as Margaret says, “You don’t have to spend a lot of money on the makeup product if you just know what to do with it.”

How Your Bronzer Can Help You Defy Gravity!

In today’s Sixty and Me video, Ariane demonstrates how older women can use bronzer to make your chin area look more defined. The first step is to emphasize cheekbones by brushing bronzer underneath them using a soft brush, or fully drawn retractable brush.

The second step is to use a stiffer, or half-drawn retractable brush and apply it along the jawline, blending it down along the neck. The trick is to keep the look soft and simple and not overdo it by creating too much of a contouring effect. Ariane calls her method “Shading” as it gives structure back to the face without looking unnatural.

The key point to note here is not to use a shimmering bronzer – one with a sheen effect is okay, but matte will work best.
