The foods that enter our body are very important for our outward appearance. This is especially true when it comes to aging skin. How so? Celebrity makeup artist Ariane Poole is passionate about nutrition and skincare. Today she has joined us in a discussion about the foods we need to deviate from, and some skincare products that she absolutely loves. Enjoy the show!
We all know that smoking and being exposed to the sun are bad for our skin’s health, but there are actually foods that speed up the aging process, too. Sugars, alcohol, and white, refined carbohydrates also push the clock against us.
Does this mean we have to kiss cupcakes goodbye? Not if we want to enjoy life! Ariane and Margaret both recommend finding a balance in the choices you make concerning the foods you eat.
Make several healthy choices to offset one not-so-healthy choice. Eat a salad to offset a slice of pizza. If it’s easier to avoid alcohol but harder to avoid sugar, then it makes sense to completely avoid alcohol and then carefully choose when to indulge in those sugary sweet confections… in moderation, of course.
We all love getting the most bang for our buck, so multi-purpose products are a great choice for every budget. Tri Balm by Frances Prescott is one product that cleanses, exfoliates, and moisturizes. The non-spill formula makes this one-step skin care system easy to use and travel friendly.
Eve Lom also makes a cleanser that exfoliates and moisturizes, as well. Both of these delicious smelling balms are excellent products for all skin types.
Need a little extra beauty sleep? Ariane has found another multi-purpose product that will help you get a little shut-eye all while promoting the health of your skin. The Me brand has developed a Glow Beauty Boosting Eye Mask infused with their patented copper technology. The results? Younger, healthier looking skin in as little as 2 weeks.
Ariane was very excited to share one product she picked up at Sephora called Dr Jart+ Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask. Dr Jart+ also makes other face masks that can be found here. Whether you’re trying to hydrate your skin, brighten it, or firm it up, there’s a mask out there to meet all of your skincare needs.
Most people are familiar with the Aveeno brand, but few may be familiar with their Skin Relief Shower and Bath Oil. In this video, Ariane shares how this product restored moisture to her arms and legs while other products still left her dry and itchy. The combination of oatmeal and oil in this in-shower moisturizer conditions and soothes dry skin.
If you’re looking for a night-time elixir that will lift, firm, tighten, plump, smooth, and rejuvenate skin, Ariane highly suggests a new serum-oil that she has been using called Overnight Facial by Sarah Chapman. It is suitable for all skin types and it smells divine.
While we’ve been focusing a great deal on the health and appearance of our skin, Ariane also found a few products for our hair that she loves to share, too. First, DryBar makes a 3-in-1 hair product called Triple Sec that will texturize, amplify, and refresh your hair. Perfect for perking up fine hair, this product goes on like hairspray without feeling sticky or clumpy.
The last product shown in the video is Root Cover Up by Color Wow. This easy to apply powder creates the look of fuller hair by not only covering roots but by filling in the gaps created by thinning hair and your natural part. This water-resistant formula comes in several shades and looks completely natural.
