When you ask most single older people if they would like to find love after 50, the answer is almost always yes. But, if you ask them whether they think it is actually possible to find love after 50, their answers are more mixed. Some people believe that finding love is possible at any age. Others are skeptical.
It’s easy to understand why some boomers would be somewhat cynical about love. After all, by the time we reach our 50s, we have our share of emotional battle scars. In addition, many baby boomers have fallen prey to the negative stereotypes about dating after 50. For these people, finding love after 50 is nothing more than wishful thinking.
On the other hand, there are plenty of us who still believe in love. Perhaps these members of our community have found love themselves. Or, maybe they know someone who has found the man or woman of their dreams after 50.
I’m really curious what you think about this. Please take a few seconds to vote and, if you feel comfortable, share your response so that we can keep the conversation going.
Do you think that it is possible to find love over 50? Why or why not? Do you know anyone who met his or her partner after 50?
