As I sit here in my little 4-person couchette on the train from Zurich to Prague, I am reminded of everything that I love about travel. For starters, I just spent the last several hours with two lovely ladies, who shared their life stories and plans for the future.
Every time I travel, I meet such wonderful people – and I can already tell that this trip will be no exception.
Now alone, looking out of the window, I see little houses flying by in streaks of white, red and, occasionally, blue. I am transported into the lives of the people I see. I always wonder what they are doing. I am genuinely curious how they find meaning in their lives.
For me, this is part of the magic of being on the road. Traveling gives us an opportunity to see into the lives of others – and in doing so, we come to understand ourselves.
In a few hours, I will arrive in Prague for my first Road Scholar trip. I’m sure that it will be an amazing experience, filled with interesting people, intriguing sights and new discoveries.
I hope that you will join me as I travel through Prague over the next few days. I’ll try to post videos as I go so that you can share in the beauty of this wonderful part of the world.
If you are interested in finding out more about Road Scholar, you can get their free catalogue here. So far, they have provided an amazing experience. I can’t wait to see what the days ahead have in store!
