In this video, we will discuss how to get rid of age spots using makeup and other techniques. When most women think about age spot removal, expensive surgery or other painful treatments spring to mind. But, there is another option. While makeup can’t get rid of your age spots permanently, it can help you to soften their effects.
In this video, our guest, Sylvia, had spent a lot of time in sunny Brazil. Even though she has lovely skin, Sylvia was concerned about pigmentation, uneven skin tone and age spots.
Ariane took her through a number of steps to help address this concern and gave her a beautiful day look. The topics covered went well beyond age spots and the results were fabulous. Here is how Ariane approached Sylvia’s makeover. Enjoy the show!
The first thing Ariane did was to apply Ariane Poole Retexturizing Face Primer with SPF20. She explained that using a primer with SPF is important to use if you have pigmentation from sun damage in the past.
Ariane Poole BB Cream in Medium was then applied. Ariane explains that BB Cream stands for “Blemish Balm.” This hydrating foundation covers pigmentation and age spots and not just blemishes as some people think. It is applied with fingers and massaged into the skin. It also includes SPF 30 so it may help to prevent further sun damage. BB Cream can be applied under the eyes. It is a comfortable foundation to wear and gives both radiance and glow. If you are wondering how to get rid of age spots, this section of the video is key.
Ariane then applied Ariane Poole Mineral Illuminating Pen in Medium low on the top of Sylvia’s cheek bones, not right under the bottom eye lashes.
Ariane shows the right way to shape eyebrows by brushing eyebrows down, filling in a line along the top and then brush the lashes back up. Ariane reminds us that eyebrows should mimic the hair colour. She applied very gentle Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil in Ash.
For Sylvia’s eyes, Ariane used a creamy eye shadow in a creamy bronze colour Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Bronze. She also mentioned Ariane Poole Eye Shine in Constellation as another option. Ariane recommends cream shadows for older skin because they are crease resistant and create luminosity.
Ariane Poole Super Wear Gel Pencil in Sienna was applied to the base of Sylvia’s top and bottom eye lashes to add a bit of brightening and definition.
Ariane Poole Navy Mascara was applied to Sylvia’s eyes. Ariane recommends that older women consider navy mascara instead of black. Navy blue gives the illusion of making the eye whites looking whiter, because as we age, our eyes get dull and less white. You can also apply navy mascara over black and see that it brightens the eye without making it look too heavy.
Using a brush on the apple of the cheek, Ariane applied a cream blusher Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge, and Ariane Poole Under Eye & Face Brightener. It gave Sylvia’s entire face a luminous glow.
Ariane then used her secret tool for eyes. She used a small battery run Heated Eye Lash Curler and held it gently on the lashes for 5 seconds.
Finally Ariane outlined Sylvia’s lips with Ariane Poole Lip Pencil in Teaberry along with Ariane Poole Luxury Lip Gloss in Pink Peony.
It was clear that Sylvia and Ariane had a fantastic time working on this video together. I hope that you enjoy watching this video as much as we enjoyed making it!
