Essential Holiday Wardrobe for Over 50’s

By Sandra Roussy August 25, 2023 Beauty

Are you preparing for your next holiday? Are you going to lounge on the beach with some drinks and a good book for a week? Are you going to explore a few cities in Europe for a month?

You need to prepare for wherever your next vacation holiday takes you. Clothing, footwear, and accessories.

I have created some outfit suggestions for you that are appropriate for each specific holiday.

Going to the Beach?

Beach vacations are very popular for young and old. There is something about having your feet in warm sand and relaxing to the sound of the waves.

Whether you are going to the south of Spain, to a trendy beach in Mexico, or hitting the cool California coast – you need some sensible pieces to pack.

I don’t know about you, but I skip the itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny bikinis and go for swimwear that covers more skin and that is also cute and trendy.

The Basic Black One-Piece

Pack a one-piece black swimsuit that will give you more options to mix and match with a variety of colorful accessories. Wear the same swimsuit, but change the accessories every day.

The Basic Black One-Piece

This ruched bodice one-piece swimsuit has soft wire-free cups, a flattering twist front V-neckline, and tummy-control front lining.

Match it with a colorful caftan cover up, light pink Croc sandals, Michael Kors sunglasses, and a cute charm bracelet.

Want More Coverage?

You can, on the other hand, pack some neutral accessories and several colorful swimsuits. Swim dresses are great if you want to cover up and be comfortable.

This swim dress comes in several different patterns and has a lining that shapes and controls. It also is designed with an inside shelf bra and attached full-coverage anti-chafing bike shorts.

Pair it with comfortable and safe Teva sandals, a large beach bag, and trendy Ray Ban sunglasses.

Casual Daytime Exploring

Going to walk around the city and maybe hit a few museums? That means good shoes and comfortable clothing.

Holiday Blues

Shades of blue and denim are easy outfits to put together. Pack white and navy accessories and you’ll be sure that all your clothing items will match.

Add a fun touch to your outfit with an embroidered top, stretch cropped denim pants, and matching runners. Top your look with a large tote, hat, and coordinated scarf.

Tunics + Leggings = Winning Combo

Casual Evening

Going out for an evening stroll? Going to a casual lounge to meet some friends? Jumpsuits are always a good item to pack when going on holiday.

Semi Formal Evening

Going out for dinner? Long patterned dresses are a great item to bring on holiday for those evenings out.

A black & white dress paired with a white denim jacket is a perfect holiday look. Accessorize with flats, a black bag, and silver jewelry.

Heading Out on a Cruise?

Time to spice up your cruising wardrobe.

A striped top and white cropped pants are a winning combo for a cruise. Pair your ensemble with comfortable navy shoes, a small white purse, and a white sun visor.
