The heartbeat of a destination lies in its street food culture, where the essence of local flavors comes alive through vibrant stalls and bustling markets. Picture yourself wandering through the labyrinthine lanes of Bangkok, Thailand, where the tantalizing aroma of Pad Thai beckons you to indulge in a symphony of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors.
From crispy falafel in the streets of Istanbul to steaming hot tamales in Mexico City, street food offers a sensory feast that brings you closer to the pulse of a city’s culinary heartbeat.
Immerse yourself in the culinary heritage of a region by sampling traditional dishes that have stood the test of time. In Italy, savor the simplicity of a perfectly prepared plate of pasta alla carbonara, each creamy bite a tribute to the Roman trattorias that have perfected this classic recipe.
Journey to Morocco and experience the harmony of flavors in a fragrant tagine, where slow-cooked meats and spices create a symphony for your taste buds. Whether it’s the umami-rich sushi of Japan or the aromatic curries of India, traditional dishes offer a window into the soul of a culture through the language of food.
Elevate your culinary adventure by participating in immersive cooking classes and guided food tours that unveil the hidden treasures of a destination’s gastronomy. Imagine yourself in a sunlit kitchen in Provence, France, learning to prepare a traditional bouillabaisse under the expert guidance of a local chef.

Food tours lead you off the beaten path to uncover culinary gems, from family-run trattorias in Italy to bustling night markets in Taiwan, where every bite tells a story of local traditions and flavors.
Connect with the source of your food by visiting local markets and farms that sustainably harvest the ingredients that grace your plate. Travel to the rolling hills of Tuscany, Italy, where vine-ripened tomatoes and cold-pressed olive oils beckon you to experience the farm-to-table journey firsthand. One of the most rewarding aspects of culinary adventures is the opportunity to create lasting memories through shared meals with locals and fellow travelers. Picture yourself dining al fresco in a charming piazza in Florence, Italy, exchanging stories and laughter over plates of handmade ravioli and a glass of Chianti.
From intimate cooking classes with new friends to communal meals in remote villages, the act of sharing food transcends language barriers and cultural differences, fostering connections that go beyond the dinner table. Every bite shared is a chance to bond, to learn, and to celebrate the joy of exploring the world through food.

What food experiences have you had while traveling? In which country or state have you tasted foods that you will never forget? What were they?
One of the best things I have ever eaten was a Danish fish ball with remoulade sauce in Copenhagen. I also had a beautiful fillet of sole with orange sauce in Barcelona and an oven baked sea bass in Florence where it was expertly filleted at the table. I can still taste all of these dishes, especially the fish ball.
I love visiting Italy but sometimes have a problem with Italian food as I don’t eat cheese. However, in Milan there is a fantastic Chinatown district with all things Asian and delicious. Much as I love living in Switzerland, the food here can be a bit bland and uninteresting as the Swiss are not known for liking food to be spicy or well seasoned.
I do sometimes cook Scottish comfort food when I’m missing home!
