Celebrate Your Sixty and Me Sisters – Together We Are Invincible!

By Margaret Manning September 22, 2015 Lifestyle

I never had a sister. As the older sibling to two boys, my childhood was spent dodging mud pies, swinging from trees and washing dirty clothes. Ok, I’m not really complaining. I love my brothers dearly. The point that I’m making here is that I never understood the power and value of sisterhood until much later in my life.

In fact, it wasn’t until I started the Sixty and Me community that I started to understand the powerful relationships that women can form when they come together. Over the last several years, I have seen women giving each other honest advice, lending a kind word and sharing their stories.

As I think about the amazing women in our community and the bond that we have formed, I am reminded of a quote by Isabel Allende, who said “Sisters: talk to each other, be connected and informed, form women’s circles, share your stories, work together, and take risks. Together we are invincible.”

Isabel Allende - Sisters: talk to each other, be connected

Reading Isabel’s advice to all women, I want to say two things to all of you. First, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of our community. Second, I want to ask you to continue to be engaged. Every comment you leave, strengthens the bonds of friendship that we share. Every time you share one of our articles, you help to bring more women into our community.

We are all surrounded by our Sixty and Me sisters. Together we are invincible.

What do the other women in the Sixty and Me community mean to you? Please take a few minutes to introduce yourself to the group. The more women participate, the stronger we will become!
