Are you looking for casual outfit ideas that are comfortable and that look good?
When you look good, you feel good.
Casual and comfortable doesn’t have to mean boring and frumpy. So, here are my tips for dressing stylishly casual over 60.
Here are our top Casual Outfits for Women Over 60 That Don’t Sacrifice Style:
Dressing casual is all about comfort. No super tight clothes and stiletto heels. Items must feel comfortable and let you move freely without constraint. This doesn’t mean that you should look like you’re wearing a sack though!
Think cotton, linen, cashmere, Tencel, and stretch fabrics like jersey knits. These tend to breathe better and give off a more casual feel and look.
Avoid elastic waistbands if you can. They tend to make you look older and are simply not flattering. Cotton or denim with added stretch, like spandex, can feel comfortable and still be trendy.
Go easy on the accessories. Big earrings and blingy necklaces are probably not a good idea to add to your casual look.
When it comes to footwear, go for mules, sandals, sneakers, and ballerinas. Also, a flat bootie can look good with a pair of jeans.

I love bibbed overalls…are the new baggy ones suitable for a 65 year old, thick in the middle woman?
Love this site. It’s really helpful especially with reference a little bit of arm covering as so much out there can be sleeveless!
I would love to know how to buy the entire outfits that you have suggested. I am 75 years old and really don’t relish having to go from one store to the next to purchase separate items but would love to purchase an entire outfit from your suggestions. Any possibilities there?
Hi Norma,
I find the items for the outfits at different outlets. I completely understand that you don’t want to go from shop to shop.
What I can suggest is that you take this article to a store that carries a variety of categories (clothing, footwear, and accessories) and ask for a store employee to help you find items that are similar and match them up to create complete outfits that resemble the ones that I have put together. Choose a department store like Macy’s, Target, Nordstrom, Sears, Bloomingdale’s, or JCPenny, for example. They typically have wide selections in a variety of sizes. The items may not be the exact same as the outfits in this article, but the styling and color combos should match so that they look similar.
Hope this helps. :)
This would have to be the most wonderful post I’ve come across for casual styles for women over 60. You truly understand that we don’t want to look like shriveled up old prunes in sackcloth (as most other bloggers would convince us we must).
