If you know that water is good for you, but, don’t like the taste, I have a solution – fruit infused water! Today, I’d like to give you a quick demonstration of 3 of my favorite fruit infused water recipes.
Cucumber and mint – this is probably the most refreshing of the recipes that we’ll cover today.
Lemon and ginger – both lemon and ginger are great for keeping your stomach in balance.
Strawberry, lime and lemongrass – this recipe is packed with nutrients and has a luxurious feel.
Believe it or not, while simple to make, fruit infused waters can actually spice up many aspects of your life.
For example, they make a great addition to any dinner party or family gathering. Instead of breaking out the Coca Cola, why not treat your guests to something truly special?
They also make any trip to the park special. Personally, I love sitting on a bench by the lake, drinking my latest strawberry, lime and lemongrass creation. The scent of the fruit and the fresh taste of the infused water make a “normal” experience extraordinary.
All you need to create your own fruit infused water is a mason jar, your favorite fruits and vegetables and filtered water.
Personally, I prefer glass mason jars for a couple of reasons. First, I like to avoid using plastic containers where possible. This is both for health reasons and to protect the environment. Second, mason jars just make me feel special! I like to tie little bows around them and pretend that they are luxury items, which, in a way, they are!
By the way, here are a few other ideas for bringing a little luxury into your life, without breaking the bank.
To create your own fruit infused water:
Wash your jar and any fruits and vegetables that you will be using.
Chop your fruits and vegetables and give any herbs a squeeze to release their flavors.
Add your fruits and vegetables, along with the filtered water, to your mason jar.
Let your fruits infuse for about 6 hours. You can either let them infuse at room temperature and add ice. Or, you can put them in the refrigerator and let them infuse a bit longer.
That’s really all there is to it! There are special containers that you can buy for infusing water. But, I prefer to do it the old fashioned way.
I hope that these 3 simple fruit infused water recipes help you to stay cool and refreshed this summer!
