There’s a Transformation in Business Taking Place

Currently, there is a gentle and quiet transformation going on in business today. Building a business you love means creating and growing at your pace. Imagine doing what you love every day.

There are so many incredible examples of spirited women in their 60s making a mark in the business world. I have a friend who loves to knit hats, beautiful soft woolen hats in many styles and colors.

She created a non-profit and currently donates these hats to breast cancer patients who are undergoing chemo.

Another friend creates her organic lotions and creams and sells on her personal shop on Etsy. Her inspiration came from a diagnosis that led her to find natural chemical free products. When she couldn’t see what she needed, she made it.

I used to own and operate a successful online pet boutique, Trendy Pet, where we made items locally in Denver CO.

My love for dogs and cats is lifelong, and my business allows me to live in this world. But, the business bug didn’t hit me until I retired from my teaching career. This is how the creativity bug lives on.

There are three ways to come up with an idea for a business.

The Logical Way

The logical way is the traditional way of starting a business. You come up with an idea and evolve from there. It lines up beautifully with a much more conventional business method. Is something missing in the world? Can I create a business by solving that problem? And you do just that.

The Organic Way

You have a fun and lifelong passion. With the emergence of our handmade economy, hobbies evolved into businesses. Esty was born, and the rest is history! Before you know it, you’re running a small business enterprise.

The Why Way

The Why Way is a step apart from the logical or organic way of thinking. The Why Way is just that. Why comes before what. Why do you want to do it? Why does it matter to you? Why are you here to do it? Who do you want to serve? How do you want to do business?

A shift in thinking is needed when you are a woman in transition.
